"I am asking that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we 'accentuate the positive.' I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good. . Look for the sunlight through the clouds" -- President Gordon B. Hinckley ("The Continuing Pursuit of Truth," Ensign, Apr. 1986, 2-4).

Last year for Mother’s Day (2007) Clark surprised me with this little guy of ours (Big Boy now) ‘Hero’. I came home from work to a tiny little mew coming from somewhere in the house. I thought I was hearing things so I thought nothing of it. Then I started to suspect something when Clark was furiously typing on the computer finishing “something”… I then meandered around our Apartment and went to go throw something away when I saw something fuzzy cowering behind the toilet in the bathroom. I then thought I was seeing things so I turned to walk out of the bathroom when I heard another “mew” and I KNEW I did see and hear what I thought I did! I screamed in glee and picked up the shivering little guy and as I turned around Clark triumphantly handed me the poem he was quickly finishing on his computer:

A New Momma on Mother’s Day!
Today is a very special day
For mothers everywhere
We celebrate their nurturing;
The way they always care!
Today I must remind you
That you’re my future Queen
By treating you in every way
And thought and word and deed.
“but I am not a Momma,”
I seem to hear you say
“So why do I get breakfast in bed
Upon this Mother’s Day?”
I need a tiny mouth to feed
And make it never hunger
Just like my momma did
When I was so much younger.
I need a tiny hand to hold
And comfort when it’s sad
I need a little soul that waits
On me to make it glad
Well here it is; your tiny guy
To nurture and to care for
A newborn kitten just eight weeks old
You’re a MOMMA now HURRAY!!!
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
- Clark Cooper
So today marks our second year with Hero. He has been such a blessing of comfort, laughter and joy in our lives. We’re so happy we got him a companion to play with - a second joy in our home ‘Tiny Kitty’. “Man should not be alone“, I believe that goes for any species ;) He’s a much happier boy having another feline to relate to. :)

Thank you Clarky for surprising me with a “baby” last Mother’s Day and giving me reason to celebrate this holiday. I am so thankful that you love Animals just as much as I do. :)
I Love You!
